One of the serious challenges in edge painting leather parts is the time needed for change colors in the machine. This process can take up to 15 minutes with some machines. To answer the demands of on demand manufactureing, the SS1101 and SS1102 support stations were design to hold colors in que for the PL1100 edge painters. 

In each socket, a painting head filled with different color can be installed. The task of SS1101 and SS1102 is to maintain each of the inserted heads in normal operational condition and reduce drying of the paint. By using the PL1100 painting machine in combination with a support station, changing the color of the paint in the painting unit is as simple as moving the head from the machine to the support station. This change is made without interrupting the operation of any of the machines. This saves time and ensures the flexibility of the production department.
